On the afternoon of May 12, the Central South University National Graduate College For Elite Engineers convened a faculty and staff meeting to announce leadership appointments and removals. Tian Qinghua, Member of the University Party Committee and Director of the Organization Department; members of the college Party Committee and leadership team; and all faculty and staff attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Vice Dean Chen Ailiang of the college.

Director Tian Qinghua announced the Central South University decision on the appointment and removal of the Dean of the National Graduate College For Elite Engineers: Comrade Zhao Zhongwei is appointed as Dean of the National Graduate College For Elite Engineers.

At the meeting, Academician Zhao Zhongwei delivered a statement, expressing gratitude for the trust and support of the University Party Committee. He stated that he will resolutely implement the decisions and deployments of the university leadership team, take deepening multidisciplinary cross-integration as the starting point, work with all faculty and students to build synergistic development momentum, solidly advance the connotative construction of the college, and jointly promote the quality of talent cultivation to new heights.

The college is currently facing dual opportunities of a new round of disciplinary adjustment and the implementation of special programs. It needs to be grounded in the "Four Orientations," use disciplinary cross-integration as the driving force, optimize resource allocation, and accelerate the construction of high-level innovation platforms. The university will fully support the college's development and expand international cooperation, advance the construction of the "Overseas National Graduate College For Elite Engineers," and promote Chinese engineering education standards and experience to the world.

The convening of this faculty and staff meeting marks a key step for the Central South University National Graduate College For Elite Engineers in deepening educational reform. In the future, the college will closely focus on frontier fields such as "new energy +" and "artificial intelligence +," rely on Central South University's characteristic disciplinary advantages, build an internationally first-class demonstration base for engineering innovation talent cultivation, and continuously deliver the "Central South Solution" for solving major engineering and technological challenges and achieving high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and strength.
