To further promote university-enterprise cooperation and deepen the integration of industry and education, the Central South University National Graduate College For Elite Engineers and the School of Metallurgy and Environment, in collaboration with the University Party Committee United Front Work Department and the Alumni Entrepreneur Association, conducted the "Central South Think Tank Alumni Enterprise Deep Visit to New Welllink—University-Enterprise Industry-University-Research Exchange Meeting" at Hunan New Welllink Advanced Metallic Material Co., Ltd. Over 20 participants attended the event, including Cheng Qiongwen, Secretary of the Party Committee of the college; Li Yanfeng, Deputy Director of the University Party Committee United Front Work Department; Chen Ailiang, Vice Dean of the National Graduate College For Elite Engineers; Li Yanrong, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the Alumni Entrepreneur Association; Zeng Hanbin, Secretary Specialist; and professor representatives from the School of Metallurgy and Environment. Chen Zhiqiang, alumnus and Chairman of New Welllink, led the company's senior management team in warmly receiving the delegation.
During the event, Chairman Chen Zhiqiang accompanied the delegation in visiting the New Welllink exhibition hall and introduced the company's basic situation. He mentioned that New Welllink has always taken "technology leadership" as its core, forming multiple independent intellectual property rights in high-end metal material preparation and green process innovation, with products widely applied in national strategic fields such as new energy and high-end equipment manufacturing.

The symposium was chaired by Chen Ailiang. At the meeting, R&D team representatives from Xinweiling and professors Wang Xuewen, Tian Zhongliang, Li Qingzhu, Zhan Jing, and Li Minggang from Central South University conducted in-depth discussions on technical challenges in the enterprise's production process. Regarding specific issues such as "optimization of high-purity metal purification efficiency" and "enhancement of material corrosion resistance under complex working conditions," the professors proposed technical improvement ideas based on their own research directions, creating a lively exchange atmosphere.
At the meeting, Li Yanfeng, Deputy Director of the University Party Committee United Front Work Department, pointed out in his remarks that university-enterprise cooperation needs to strengthen the integration of the "industrial chain, talent chain, and technology chain." The university has abundant talent among non-Party personages, and enterprises, market-oriented as they are, can also rely on Central South University to promote precise transformation of university scientific research achievements. Meanwhile, through joint talent cultivation and co-construction of practice bases, they can deliver outstanding engineers who are both employable and retainable for enterprises.
In his concluding remarks, Secretary Cheng Qiongwen emphasized that the industry currently faces downward pressure and technological iteration challenges, and that deepening university-enterprise cooperation is the key to "breaking the deadlock." On one hand, the college will focus on industry development needs, strengthen the construction of university-enterprise supervisor pools and enterprise project pools, aim for "mutual commitment and mutual empowerment," provide services in policy coordination and resource docking, and promote the upgrade of both parties from "one-way cooperation" to "deep symbiosis." On the other hand, the college plans to advance the construction of talent cultivation practice bases and engineer technology centers, urgently needing deep participation from entrepreneurs to jointly implement research platform construction, providing more solid practical platform support for outstanding engineer cultivation.

This visit and research established a good platform for in-depth cooperation between both parties. The university and enterprise will take this as a starting point to carry out deep cooperation in fields including technical breakthroughs, talent cultivation, achievement transformation, and university-enterprise co-construction, fully exploring new pathways for "university-enterprise-industry" collaborative innovation, and contributing wisdom and strength to serving the national new industrialization strategy and cultivating high-quality outstanding engineers.
