On the morning of September 10, to mark the 40th Teachers' Day, the School of Outstanding Engineers held a Teachers' Day symposium. School leaders Cheng Qiongwen, Chen Ailiang and Zhu Zhongping attended the meeting, together with newly-recruited teachers and representatives of serving teachers.

New teachers expressed that they felt greatly honored and proud to join Central South University. They stated that they would integrate personal growth into the overall development of the school, strive to improve their teaching and research capabilities, uphold fine professional ethics, cultivate outstanding students, and spare no effort to boost the school's development.

Representatives of serving teachers thanked the university and the school for providing high-quality platforms and broad development prospects. They encouraged young teachers to dare to innovate, pursue excellence, continuously polish teaching and research competence, deepen the integration of industry and education, and jointly foster outstanding engineering talents.

At the end of the meeting, Secretary Cheng Qiongwen, on behalf of the School Party Committee, extended festive greetings and sincere gratitude to all faculty and staff. He pointed out that the joint establishment of the School of Outstanding Engineers by pooling high-quality educational resources and superior industrial resources is an innovative move to fully implement national guidelines on outstanding engineer training. It aims to build an integrated innovation community combining industry, academia, research and application, carry out organized scientific research and talent training, and explore new paths for engineering education reform.

He stressed that the school should fully serve as a pilot field for education reform. It is expected to cooperate with enterprises across various industries, target major national strategic needs, and achieve a batch of significant research achievements. Efforts will be made to build a new school-enterprise collaborative training model featuring full-chain design, full-factor allocation and whole-process cultivation for outstanding engineering talents, so as to contribute to building China into a great country in education, science and technology, and talent development.
