College Representatives Attend 2024 International Conference on Industry-University-Research Cooperation (Chongqing)

On November 10, 2024, the 2024 International Conference on Industry-University-Research Cooperation was grandly held in Chongqing to further consolidate cooperation achievements and expand the depth and scope of industry-university-research integration. Ma Zhen, Vice Mayor of Chongqing Municipal Peoples Government, Wang Shuxin, Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of Chongqing University, as well as faculty representatives from renowned universities at home and abroad attended the event. Chen Ailiang, Vice Dean of our college, and Lei Xiaoke, counselor, participated in the conference as official representatives.

Prior to the conference, as a Hunan provincial delegate, Chen Ailiang briefed leading officials and experts from home and abroad on the fruitful outcomes achieved by Hunan Province in relevant international industry-university-research cooperation initiatives. She stated that under the guidance of the Ministry of Education and relevant construction centers, Hunan has successfully hosted the provincial-level International Conference on Industry-University-Research Cooperation for three consecutive years. Each year, over 1,000 experts and scholars including academicians from more than 100 well-known universities and enterprises worldwide take part in the event, effectively linking education, talent cultivation and industrial chains.

During the 2023 conference, Central South University signed industry-university-research cooperation agreements with Indonesia Hengsheng New Energy Materials Co., Ltd. and Hunan Nonferrous Metals Industry Investment Group Co., Ltd. respectively. Led by Central South University and GEM Co., Ltd., the International Innovation Alliance for Green Metallurgical Development was established. It integrates superior resources of all member institutions, builds a cooperation platform and mechanism featuring joint construction, resource sharing and mutual learning, and facilitates in-depth exchanges and collaboration among members in talent training, scientific and technological innovation and social services.

It is reported that the Sub-forum on Low-carbon Metallurgy and New Energy Materials of the 2024 International Conference on Industry-University-Research Cooperation, undertaken by Central South University, was successfully held in Changsha on November 5. The forum has built an exchange platform for scholars and professionals engaged in low-carbon metallurgy and new energy materials, serving as an important bond to implement the Belt and Road Initiative and advance global industry-university-research cooperation.

Participants seized development opportunities brought by the Belt and Road Initiative to strengthen international cooperation, boost innovation and application of green and low-carbon technologies, accelerate the transformation of scientific research achievements into real productive forces, jointly advance the green and low-carbon transformation of relevant industries, and contribute to sustainable development goals.
