Xu Meizhu, Vice Dean of Baowu National Outstanding Engineers College, Nie Zhongying, Deputy Director of Enrollment and Training Office, and Zhang Wu, Deputy General Manager of Sinosteel Hunan Special Metal Materials Co., Ltd., visited our college to investigate the construction progress of the Outstanding Engineers College.

At the start of the meeting, Cheng Qiongwen, Party Secretary of our college, extended a warm welcome to the guests and introduced the college’s founding process. He noted that based on Central South University’s complete disciplinary systems covering non-ferrous metals, medicine and rail transit, the college is committed to fostering outstanding engineers with global vision and innovative capacity, so as to provide solid talent support for national modernization drive. The college will actively respond to national strategic needs, deepen industry-education integration, and boost interdisciplinary innovation and development.

Xu Meizhu briefed attendees on the business layout of China Baowu Steel Group and the basic information of its National Outstanding Engineers College. He stated that as the world’s largest steel enterprise, Baowu is building a coordinated development pattern featuring one core industry and five major business sectors, and is in urgent need of a large number of high-caliber innovative talents.
Chen Ailiang, Vice Dean of our college, elaborated on the college’s development status from three aspects: general overview, industry-education integration and future development plans. Afterwards, both sides conducted in-depth exchanges on college construction experience, talent training modes, curriculum system development, scientific research cooperation and international cooperation.

This visit lays a solid foundation for future bilateral cooperation. Both sides aim to forge closer cooperative ties, realize resource sharing and complementary advantages, jointly advance the development of outstanding engineer education in China, and make greater contributions to technological progress and industrial upgrading of the metallurgical industry in China and Belt and Road related countries. Both parties expressed the willingness to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in talent training and scientific research to jointly cultivate outstanding engineers for the new era.
