On November 28, 2024, Professor Li Xinhai and his delegation visited Chengxing Co., Ltd., where they officially signed the cooperation agreement for the "Research Project on Key Materials Technology for Solid-State Lithium Batteries" and other collaborative initiatives. The signing ceremony was attended by Professor Li Xinhai (recipient of the National Ten-Thousand Talents Program), Professor Wang Zhixing, Professor Wang Jiexi (Director of the Metallurgy and Chemical Research Institute and recipient of the National Outstanding Youth Fund), Associate Professor Li Guangchao, as well as Mr. Jiang Guolin, President of Chengxing Co., Ltd., Mr. Wang Yang, Vice President, and other executives.

During the ceremony, Professor Li Xinhai delivered a speech outlining the latest developments at Central South University. He emphasized the research and application of physical chemistry in the metallurgical field, and detailed his team’s research in new energy materials and devices—particularly breakthroughs in lithium battery anode/cathode materials, electrolytes, separators, precious metal purification, and powder ore pelletization. He expressed full confidence in the collaboration with Chengxing Co., Ltd., noting that the partnership would advance the university’s research in phosphorus chemical engineering.

Subsequently, Professor Wang Jiexi introduced the Metallurgy and Environment College’s history and development, along with his team’s progress in new energy materials and devices. He highlighted key achievements in solid-state batteries and LATP (lithium aluminum titanium phosphate) material quality control and technological innovation, as well as advancements in solid-state battery technical routes, product quality, cost analysis, and global market layout—outlining both prospects and challenges in the field.

Mr. Wang Yang, Vice President of Chengxing Co., Ltd., addressed the gathering, presenting the group’s current operations and strategic plans. He expressed the company’s intent to deepen research and industrialization in solid-state lithium battery key materials through collaboration with Professor Li Xinhai’s innovation team, driving Chengxing’s expansion into new energy and advanced materials sectors for mutual benefit.
Mr. Jiang Guolin, President of Chengxing Co., Ltd., stated that the signing marked a promising start for bilateral cooperation. Moving forward, the two sides would explore emerging fields such as solid-state battery technology and advance the company’s strategic initiatives. He stressed that leveraging Central South University’s scientific and technological strengths would jointly propel R&D in solid-state lithium battery key technologies, injecting new momentum into industry development.

The signing of the cooperation agreement signifies a milestone in the collaboration between Central South University and Chengxing Co., Ltd. in the new energy and advanced materials sectors. Both parties will engage in in-depth cooperation in solid-state lithium battery technology research to drive innovation and application of related technologies.
