On the morning of January 6, Cheng Qiongwen, Secretary of the College Party Committee, led a delegation to Sany Group for in-depth discussions on the Innovation R&D Center (Pilot Test Base) project, aiming to advance in-depth industry-education-research cooperation for the training of outstanding engineers. Accompanying him were Vice Presidents Chen Ailiang, Liu Fangyang and Huang Keke, as well as Teacher Zeng Jing from the Alumni Association of Central South University. Zhai Xin, Senior Deputy General Manager and Investment Director of Sany Group, together with Wang Chengyang, Director of the Secretariat & Supervision Department of the Group President’s Office, warmly received the visiting team.
During the talks, Secretary Cheng Qiongwen highlighted the college’s distinctive strengths in talent training and scientific research in new energy and other fields, which complement Sany Group’s solid foundation in engineering practice and lay a solid foundation for in-depth industry-education-research collaboration. He expressed full confidence in bilateral cooperation and elaborated on the college’s joint development model of "0→1→2→N". Relying on the two innovation centers of "New Energy +" and "Artificial Intelligence +", both sides will focus on advancing research from lab achievements to pilot tests and further to large-scale promotion and application, push forward targeted work to ensure steady implementation of cooperation projects and further deepen school-enterprise cooperation.
Vice President Chen Ailiang introduced the college’s disciplinary development in "Artificial Intelligence +" and "New Energy +", as well as the current progress and development plans for industry-education integration platforms. She stressed that the college will further deepen such integration to enable students to participate in real projects, conduct practical research and achieve tangible results, so as to bolster industrial development. She also pointed out that there are broad prospects for joint exploration between the two sides in related fields. Vice President Liu Fangyang briefed the guests on the construction of joint school-enterprise tutor teams and the enrollment of engineering master and doctoral students. Vice President Huang Keke noted that the degree evaluation is project-oriented, highlighting the dominant role of enterprises in the evaluation system.
Director Zhai Xin stated that Sany Group will fully support the construction of industry-education integration platforms for national outstanding engineers colleges. He hoped that both sides could leverage respective superior resources to realize resource and achievement sharing, accelerate cooperation in engineering talent training, industrial incubation and transformation of scientific research achievements, precisely meet enterprises’ core demand for engineering talents, and fuel industrial upgrading.
The meeting confirmed the intention to jointly build an innovation R&D center. Follow-up work will be carried out to sort out specific cooperation matters. Both sides will explore new mechanisms for cultivating outstanding engineering talents within the joint R&D center, and foster high-caliber engineering professionals via practical engineering environments, real-world projects, organized scientific research and full-chain innovation.
