On February 25, a delegation led by Chen Chaohui, Executive Vice Dean of the Graduate School of Ocean University of China, Sun Xiaojing, Director of the General Office, and Che Xiaofei, Deputy Director of the Training Office, visited our college to hold an exchange forum on the construction of the National Outstanding Engineers College. Representative supervisors of the college, Zhou Zilong, Dean of the School of Resources and Safety Engineering of Central South University, and Chen Ailiang, Vice Dean of the National Outstanding Engineers College, attended the forum. The forum was presided over by Vice Dean Chen Ailiang.
At the forum, Vice Dean Chen Ailiang extended a warm welcome to the delegation led by Vice Dean Chen Chaohui and detailed the basic situation of the National Outstanding Engineers College of Central South University. She pointed out that since its establishment, the college has closely focused on the national major strategic needs, actively explored the training model of integrating industry and education, science and education, and strived to cultivate outstanding engineers with innovative and practical abilities. Relying on the university’s world-class disciplines in fields such as non-ferrous metals, rail transit, and medicine, the college has built a sound organizational structure and a high-level supervisor team, established close cooperative relations with many well-known enterprises, and formed a talent training model with full-chain design, full-factor allocation, and full-process training. In addition, the college has actively carried out international cooperation, expanded overseas training programs, and continuously improved its internationalization level.
In the exchange session, Vice Dean Chen Chaohui highly affirmed the achievements made by Central South University in the construction of the National Outstanding Engineers College. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on the college’s construction ideas, management model, talent training, faculty team construction, and cooperation with enterprises. Both sides agreed that the training of outstanding engineers is an important direction of national education reform, and it is necessary to actively explore and innovate training models, strengthen the integration of industry and education, and improve students’ practical and innovative abilities. At the same time, both sides stated that they will further strengthen exchanges and cooperation, jointly explore new paths for training outstanding engineers, and contribute to the country’s technological development and industrial upgrading.
Dean Zhou Zilong stated in his speech that the training of outstanding engineers needs to be closely combined with enterprise needs, actively promote in-depth cooperation with enterprises, and ensure that students obtain real internship and research opportunities through enterprise internships and project practice.
The holding of this forum has laid a solid foundation for exchanges and cooperation between Central South University and Ocean University of China in cultivating outstanding engineers. Both sides expressed that they will continue to maintain close ties and work together to promote the construction of the National Outstanding Engineers College to a new level.
