On March 5, 2025, the college successfully held the National Graduate College For Elite Engineers training program optimization and validation meeting. The meeting adopted a hybrid online-offline format, inviting 36 experts and scholars from 19 industry-leading enterprises and renowned universities including State Grid, China Minmetals, Jinchuan Group, China Electronics Technology Group, Zijin Mining, Harbin Institute of Technology, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Southeast University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Tianjin University, Hunan University, and Sichuan University to jointly conduct in-depth validation of the graduate training programs for two strategically emerging majors: New Energy and Energy Storage Engineering, and Intelligent Science and Technology. The meeting was chaired by Vice Dean Chen Ailiang.
At the beginning of the meeting, Vice Dean Chen Ailiang, on behalf of the college, extended a warm welcome to the experts participating in this validation, and introduced to the experts in detail the college's characteristics and advantages in graduate cultivation from aspects including the college's establishment background, faculty and enrollment situation, talent cultivation model, industry-education integration achievements, and future development plans. During the meeting, attending experts unanimously recommended Zhou Youyuan, Chief Engineer of Hunan Xinneng Electric Power of China Minmetals Group, to serve as head of the expert panel.
Vice Deans Liu Fangyang and Huang Keke respectively reported on the characteristics of the training programs for New Energy and Energy Storage Engineering and Intelligent Science and Technology, covering disciplinary foundations and core advantages, research directions, curriculum systems and talent cultivation standards, cultivation models, process management, as well as comments from correspondence review experts and implementation status.
The expert panel carefully listened to the training program reports for each major and conducted in-depth discussions on key topics including interdisciplinary integration, industry-university-research collaborative education mechanisms, and connection with international frontier technologies. After four hours of thorough validation, the expert panel unanimously agreed that the overall design of the master's and doctoral training programs for both majors is scientifically sound and reasonable, fully reflecting advanced concepts of interdisciplinary integration and university-enterprise collaborative education, with distinctive contemporary characteristics and strategic foresight. At the same time, the expert panel recommended further optimizing curriculum module design, strengthening the effectiveness of university-enterprise joint cultivation, and focusing on enhancing students' innovation capabilities and international vision.
