Delegates from the National Graduate College for Elite Engineers, Central South University Attend the First Meeting of the First Standing Council of the National Industry-Education Integration Community for Nonferrous Metals Industry in 2026

To thoroughly implement the national important strategic deployment on promoting in-depth integration of industry and education, the First Meeting of the First Standing Council of the National Industry-Education Integration Community for Nonferrous Metals Industry in 2026 was successfully held in Laiwu, Shandong on February 6, 2026. Hongyan Wan, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the Community and former Deputy General Manager (Deputy Director) of the Human Resources Department (Organization Department) of Aluminum Corporation of China Limited, as well as more than 40 representatives from 24 executive vice-chairman units across the country attended the meeting. Ailiang Chen, Vice Dean of the National Graduate College for Elite Engineers, Central South University, attended the meeting and delivered a speech as Deputy Secretary-General of the Community.

The meeting heard the annual construction and operation work report made by the Secretariat of the Community, systematically summarized the progress achieved in the past year in improving management mechanisms, constructing a collaborative education system, reforming key elements of vocational education, and promoting the "going global" of vocational education, and conducted in-depth discussions on the Community's 2026 annual plan and the outline of the "15th Five-Year Plan" development plan.

 In the special discussion session, Vice Dean Ailiang Chen delivered a key speech. She pointed out that the National Industry-Education Integration Community for Nonferrous Metals Industry has built a high-level and substantive cooperation platform for promoting the high-quality development of the industry. She emphasized that all member units should give full play to the aggregation and radiation effects of the platform, and deepen pragmatic cooperation focusing on key areas: first, promote the open sharing of resources such as large-scale scientific research equipment and practical training facilities to reduce costs; second, promote the interconnection and mutual recognition of curriculum resources, technical standards and industrial information to break the information barrier between schools and enterprises; third, deepen the talent co-cultivation mechanism, and collaboratively carry out the training, evaluation and exchange of engineers and technical and skilled talents. She initiated that the Community should strive to build a benign interactive, resource-sharing and complementary industry-education integration ecology, gather the strength of universities, enterprises and scientific research institutes, and jointly serve the needs of talent training, technological innovation and industrial upgrading in the nonferrous metals industry.

This meeting was efficient and pragmatic, further clarifying the development goals and implementation paths of the Community in 2026. The National Graduate College for Elite Engineers, Central South University will continue to rely on this national platform, deeply participate in building the pattern of coordinated development of industry and education, strengthen strategic cooperation with leading enterprises in the industry and brother universities, actively explore new models and paths for cultivating elite engineers and talents in urgent need of the industry, and contribute the "Central South" wisdom and strength to promoting the transformation and upgrading of the nonferrous metals industry and the high-quality development of vocational education.
