To further implement the contents of the "Co-construction Agreement on the University-Enterprise Joint Research Center for New Power Systems" signed between Central South University and State Grid Hunan Electric Power Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "State Grid Hunan Electric Power"), especially the work arrangement for the co-construction of the national "Elite Engineer College" by both parties, on December 15, 2025, the college organized representatives of teachers and students to carry out industry-university-research exchange activities in State Grid Hunan Electric Power. Accompanied by relevant responsible persons of State Grid Hunan Electric Power, the delegation of teachers and students visited the Hunan New Power System Innovation Center. Through digital sand tables, dynamic simulation models and physical exhibitions, they experienced the construction process of the new power system in an immersive way, systematically understood the innovative practices and outstanding achievements of Hunan Power Grid in the fields of main and distribution network upgrading, new energy grid connection, load-side regulation and management, energy storage technology application and digital transformation, personally felt the cutting-edge development of power technology, deeply realized the core supporting role of the power industry in serving energy transformation and helping achieve the "dual carbon" goals, which inspired the enthusiasm of teachers and students to engage in scientific research and practice in the power field, and contributed to building a new power system with Hunan characteristics and promoting the coordinated development of the energy and power industry and higher education.


In the discussion and exchange session, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions around scientific and technological research, platform co-construction, talent training and other fields. Deputy Director Xiao Zhigao introduced the company's achievements in the scientific research innovation system and the construction of the new power system, as well as the work achievements in the fields of power grid disaster prevention and mitigation, smart power grid, etc. He specially reviewed the long-term and good cooperation history between State Grid Hunan Electric Power and Central South University, which has achieved fruitful results in joint scientific research projects, talent transportation and training, and expressed that it will further promote university-enterprise cooperation and effectively carry out the relevant work of co-constructing the university-enterprise joint research center for new power systems between universities and enterprises.

Leading Expert Zhu Jiran focused on the theme of "Artificial Intelligence Supporting the Implementation of Enterprise Strategy", and detailedly introduced the construction of the intelligent agent platform of State Grid Hunan Electric Power. Through systematic layout, he promoted the in-depth integration of artificial intelligence technology and power grid business from a higher position, more systematically and in a deeper level.
Senior Expert Huang Xin, with the theme of "Research and Development of Key Technologies and Equipment for Coordinated Regulation of Main, Distribution and Micro Power Grids", detailedly talked about how to ensure the safe and stable operation of the new power system through the coordinated operation of main, distribution and micro power grids in practical work, promote the consumption of new energy, and drive the high-quality development of Hunan's energy industry.

Vice Dean Chen Ailiang introduced the construction progress, talent training model, discipline development plan and other situations of the National Graduate College for Elite Engineers. She specially emphasized that the college is oriented to national major strategic needs, and deeply integrates the discipline chain, talent chain with the industrial chain and innovation chain. In the future, the two sides of the university and enterprise can carry out in-depth cooperation in building a high-level university-enterprise tutor team, co-constructing characteristic courses integrating cutting-edge interdisciplinary and engineering applications, co-constructing a demand-oriented industry-education integration project resource pool, creating a new mechanism for university-enterprise joint appointment and introduction of national high-end talents, co-constructing and sharing an integrated industry-university-research-application engineer technology center, and jointly tackling key core technical problems of the new power system.

Representatives of teachers from the college expressed their demands for university-enterprise cooperation combined with their research directions respectively. Vice Dean Shi Jinjing introduced that the team focuses on the integrated application of quantum communication, computing and measurement with power grid security; Professor Liu Jiuqing pointed out that the School of Metallurgy and Environment has a profound research foundation in the field of new energy, and hoped to carry out substantive project cooperation and co-construct industry-university-research platforms with State Grid Hunan Electric Power in relevant directions; Researcher Fan Xinming proposed that universities and enterprises can deepen cooperation in new energy materials and devices, energy storage materials, clean energy, energy storage technology and standard formulation; Associate Professor Su Wen focused on introducing the research progress of thermal energy storage technologies such as compressed air energy storage and Carnot batteries, and expressed the willingness to cooperate with State Grid Hunan Electric Power in relevant system optimization and equipment control; Teacher Gao Wuqiang said that he hoped to learn from the experience of State Grid Hunan Electric Power in the field of network construction and intelligence, and explore opportunities for medical-engineering interdisciplinary cooperation.
Student representatives spoke actively, shared their thoughts and expectations on industry-university-research integration and innovation from the perspective of students, and took the initiative to consult the enterprise's talent recruitment requirements and post literacy needs.

This exchange activity effectively promoted the mutual understanding between the university and the enterprise, and clarified a number of potential cooperation entry points.
